CHCANYS Releases NYC Budget Summary The New York City Council adopted a negotiated FY 2010 City Budget of $59.4 billion on June 19th. Because of a significant decrease in revenues due to the economic downturn, the adopted budget fills a gaping $6.6 billion deficit through a series of tax increases, job cuts and agency spending reductions among other actions. With a downturned economy as a backdrop, CHCANYS pursued an aggressive NYC healthcare agenda and achieved relative success. To read the NYC Budget Summary, click here.

The training will also cover new regulations being implemented by the NYS Office of the Medicaid Inspector General on October 1. Nationwide Fall Flu Prevention Campaign Gears Up The Obama Administration is providing new tools to help state and local governments and America's families prepare for the fall flu season and the ongoing H1N1 flu pandemic. Toward that end, Health and Human Services will make available preparedness grants to provide appropriate resources to state and local governments, will centralize communications about H1N1 on a new Web site www.flu.gov and will launch a new Public Service ad campaign contest to challenge Americans to come up with creative for a nationally televised PSA.
