The Primary Care/Workforce Initiatives (PCWI) Program provides a robust array of services to support and assist FQHCs in meeting their workforce needs. Activities include: analyzing health center workforce needs statewide; developing and implementing workforce recruitment and retention programs; cultivating new partnerships with educational institutions and job training programs; creating targeted professional development and training programs; and working with partners to expand the reach of health services and training using IT solutions.
AmeriCorps - CHCANYS Community Health Corps
CHCANYS Community HealthCorps – AmeriCorps In partnership with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Corporation for National Service, Community HealthCorps is a health-focused, national AmeriCorps program that seeks to increase access and eliminate health disparities though long-lasting, sustainable projects. By mobilizing a cadre of dedicated volunteers to apply their skills and ideals in helping others and meeting critical needs, the program brings national service resources to community health centers, primary care associations and clinical consortia serving medically underserved communities.
