Jeff Barnes joined CHCANYS in December of 2013 after a 32-year career in state and local government. Jeff specializes in advanced statistical analysis, performance measurement, survey design and the development of decision support systems. He is part of the CHCANYS Health IT team and will be working to analyze and improve access to planning and policy-related data.
Before coming to CHCANYS, Jeff directed a variety research and strategic planning units at the New York State Office and Temporary Assistance (OTDA) and the New York State Office of the Attorney General. Jeff was the Assistant Commissioner for Information Technology at the New York City Department of Homeless Services. He also directed Shelter Services at OTDA and developed OTDA’s State Processing Center for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recertifications. Jeff currently teaches research design at Nyack College.
