CHCANYS Congratulates New York's 17 New Access Point Awardees!
On Tuesday, August 11, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced that HHS has awarded $169 million in Affordable Care Act funding to 266 new health center sites in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico for the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services in communities that need them most. The awards were timed to coincide with National Health Center Week, an annual weeklong campaign designed to celebrate and raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of FQHCs across the country. Seventeen New York State health centers will collectively receive over $9.7 million of this funding in order to establish new health service delivery access points, expanding capacity for an additional 65,309 patients.

National Health Center Week 2015 a Great Success!

Draft Medicare Alignment Paper Available for Public Comment
NYS DOH has recently made public a draft of their proposal to align Medicare and Medicaid payment reform efforts. The Draft Medicare Alignment Paper outlines the State’s proposal to align CMS’s Medicare payment reform with New York State’s Medicaid Payment Reform Roadmap, which was recently approved by CMS. read more>>

CRFP Submission Instructions Now Available on NYS Dept. of Health Website
The NYS Dept. of Health (DOH) has re-opened the application process for the Capital Restructuring Financing Program (CRFP); the new application deadline is September 1, 2015. A new document, entitled “Instructions to Applicants on Resubmission,” was recently posted to the DOH website. To access it, click here. 

Applying to Integrate Outpatient Services under 10 NYCRR Part 404
Applicants who would like to apply to integrate services under 10 NYCRR Part 404 must complete a NYS Dept. of Health (DOH) Limited Review Application (LRA) for each Article 28-licensed site at which behavioral health services will be integrated. Instructions on submitting an LRA for Integrated Outpatient Services may be found on the DOH website by typing “ios” in the search function space on the home page. If you would like to apply to integrate services under 10 NYCRR Part 404 at a to-be-certified outpatient clinic and certify that outpatient clinic, you must submit an administrative level certificate of need application, just as you would for certifying an extension clinic, and add the information required in the Integrated Outpatient Services Instructions under “A” and “B”. New Funding Opportunity: Fiscal Year 2016 Substance Abuse Service Expansion
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 Substance Abuse Service Expansion is a competitive supplement for grant funds that will improve and expand the delivery of substance abuse services provided by existing Health Center Program award recipients, with a focus on Medication-assisted Treatment (MAT) in opioid use disorders. HRSA plans to award approximately $100 million to an estimated 310 applicants in FY 2016. Applications are due in Grants.gov by September 28, 2015 at 11:59pm, ET. Required supplemental information must be submitted via HRSA EHB by October 14, 2015, 5:00pm, ET. Transportation Assistance Levels (TALs) Classifications
The CHCANYS EM Team recently hosted a webinar in partnership with the NYS Dept. of Health’s Office of Emergency Preparedness (OHEP) to provide an overview of the classification standards for communicating transportation needs during a planned facility evacuation. HC Standard Communication Platform
Last fall, the CHCANYS EM Team launched HC Standard, a web-based application which serves as a communication platform for sharing information with health centers statewide. HC Standard may be used to send notifications via email and text and to collect situational reports from health center users during and after a widespread emergency or disaster. We encourage all health centers to contact EMteam@CHCANYS.org to learn more about HC Standard and/or log-in at www.chcanys.ger911.com to update your health center’s information.
