NY State of Health: 908,000+ Enrolled as of April 7
NY State of Health (NYSOH) has reported that 908,572 New Yorkers have enrolled in health coverage via the Marketplace since October 1, 2013. More than 70 percent of these individuals were uninsured at the time of application. Approximately 43,085 of them enrolled during the first week of April. FQHC Assistors are to be commended for their continued efforts to assist uninsured patients in learning about and signing up for health insurance plans! read more >>

NACHC to Host “Access is the Answer” TeleForum Call Today at 2:00 p.m.  
CHCANYS encourages all health center advocates to participate in the Teleforum being hosted by NACHC today at 2:00 p.m. NACHC Policy and Advocacy staff will review current policy priorities and advocacy/messaging strategies and provide important information about the next phase of the Access is the Answer campaign. New York State DSRIP Plan Update: New Details Will Have a Significant Impact on FQHCs
The final terms and conditions of New York State’s Medicaid 1115 waiver and its centerpiece, the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) plan, are now available. The plan calls for the creation of DSRIP collaborative networks of care called “Performing Provider Systems.” It is critical that all FQHCs, as major Medicaid safety net providers, participate and play a central role in Performing Provider Systems and have a thorough understanding of how the roll-out of these networks will impact their organizations. read more >>

FTCA Deeming Deadline: May 23, 2014
Program Assistance Letter (PAL) 2014-03: Calendar Year 2015 Requirements for Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Medical Malpractice Coverage for Health Centers, recently released by HRSA, describes the process by which Health Center Program grantees must submit Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deeming applications for calendar year 2015.
