Have a high school education or be working on their GED at the time of service
Be able to make eleven months commitment to serve a 1700-hour term (While in service, members work full time, on average 40 hours per week. Members have approximately two weeks vacation, plus personal days.)
Have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to community service and/or public health
Be a United States citizen, United States national or lawful permanent resident
Have a strong commitment to service
Have respect and interest in working in medically underserved communities
Have excellent people skills
Have ability to work with diverse populations
Have ability to learn quickly
Have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Have strong verbal and written communication skills
Have creativity and initiative
Individual program sites may have additional qualifications
