Early Childhood Obesity and Hispanics Leadership Summit
Presented by: the National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF), the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the New York State Assembly Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force
The Early Childhood Obesity and Hispanics Leadership Summit will provide an opportunity to participate in a working meeting to:
discuss the barriers of current programs that impact the health of Hispanics in early childhood;
discuss strategies needed for future health care programs in education and health care reform; and
build consensus on the Federal/State programs and policies that can be developed to decrease obesity among Hispanic children age 0-8 years old over the next five years.
Summary recommendations from this summit, along with the recommendations from a second summit to take place in California in March, will be announced at the NHMA Annual Conference on April 25-28, 2013 in Washington, DC.
