Achieving Rural Health Equity and Well-Being: Challenges and Opportunities
This one-day workshop, presented jointly by the Roundtable on the Promotion of Health Equity and the Elimination of Health Disparities and the Roundtable on Population Health Improvement, will explore the impacts of racial inequities, economic issues, and immigration on rural communities in the U.S. and highlight asset-based approaches to addressing these challenges in initiatives that improve population health and health equity. The workshop will include invited presentations on and discussion of initiatives created to tackle systematic disinvestment in rural communities and implications for improving the social determinants of health, including access to and quality of health care services.
