Pre-Interoperable Communications Drill Training with State Department of Health
The Interoperable Communications (IOC) Drills are designed to help Health Emergency Preparedness Coalitions (HEPC) partners ensure that they have redundant forms of communication among their members. Redundant communications refers to having multiple back-up communication modalities, and is critical to emergency preparedness planning. Past exercise and real-world events demonstrate that health care coalitions cannot depend on just one or even two means for communication.
Based on requirements of the Hospital Preparedness Program for two annual IOC Drills, and corrective actions from previous exercises and real-life events, the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness is planning to conduct one drill in the Fall of 2018. In preparation for the drill, two training webinars are planned: Exercises 101, and Writing an After-Action Report to assist partners who are new to exercises and drills.
