Webinar: Healthcare System Readiness for Highly Pathogenic Infectious Diseases
As the world closely watches the current Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (ASPR TRACIE) and the National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC) will host a webinar on U.S. healthcare system readiness for highly pathogenic infectious diseases. Speakers will:
provide an overview of the current situation in the DRC;
describe the regional, tiered system established to manage patients suspected and known to be infected with EVD or other special pathogens;
provide updates on current Ebola readiness and trends;
reinforce the “Identify, Isolate, and Inform” response framework; and
share best practices and lessons learned from previous experience.
