Third Annual Emergency Preparedness Seminar for Primary Care
Hosted by: PCEPN, in partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) The main focus of this year's Seminar is the recently-released CMS Final Rule for Emergency Preparedness that establishes national requirements for Medicare and Medicaid providers/suppliers. This much-anticipated rule represents a major update of these regulations - setting new compliance requirements for 17 provider/supplier types, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) / Rural Health Clinics (RHCs). The presenters will also discuss the future of healthcare preparedness and look at national and international perspectives on the issue. Speakers will include:
Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) by Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness & Response (ASPR)
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Americares, a US-based international relief organization.
The Seminar is especially recommended for staff working in primary care settings, including FQHCs and Article 28 outpatient clinics. For more information and to register, please click here. PCEPN recently launched a webpage devoted to the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule. We encourage you to visit the page as it contains links to useful resources, such as webinar recordings, documents and helpful websites.
