This course will train emergency management coordinators, health center leadership, and logistics officers on the various resources that are available in New York City during an emergency.  The course will cover the management of both medical and spontaneous volunteers.  It will cover the leagal implications related to volunteer use and agencies.  It will describe how to request resources fro OEM/DOHMH through PCEPN.  It will include traning on the proper request protocol for Community Emergency Response Team/Medical Reserve Corps volunteers and how PCEPN can assist health centers gain access to these resources.

Course Objectives:

  • Learn the types of resources available to PCCs
  • Learn how to request resources through PCEPN
  • How to manage volunteers once they arrive
