CHCANYS' Night of the CHCStars – A Night to Remember!

Thanks to the 250 honorees and guests who showed their support for CHCANYS at the Night of the CHCStars event on April 30, 2013. Thanks to the generosity of Barbra Minch, CHCANYS Board Member and the President & CEO of the William F. Ryan Community Health Network, the festive evening was hosted at the Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Community Health Center. The program featured inspiring remarks by Dr. Jack Geiger, a visionary co-founder of the health center movement. Honored guests Tom Van Coverden, President & CEO of NACHC, and Julio Bellber, President & CEO of the RCHN Community Health Foundation, remembered those who have fought for health care as “a right, not a privilege” through the years. The event commemorated CHCANYS’ 40 years and the many stars of the health center movement with music by the NYC Housing Authority Youth Chorus and a tribute presented by Janice Huff, WNBC-TV. Proceeds from the benefit reception and the CHCStars campaign support CHCANYS’ work to ensure access to high-quality healthcare for all New Yorkers. Special thanks to the Board Fundraising Committee for their support of this event.
