Full-time Clinical Analyst

Population Health Department, BronxCare Health System

BronxCare Health System is seeking to hire two full-time analysts in our Population Health Department. The Population Health department develops outpatient initiatives aimed to improve the health of Bronx residents. The goals and responsibilities of our department are outlined below:

• Improve adherence to preventive care guidelines

• Grow provider patient panels

• Decrease cost of care and increase revenue

• Improve patient experience in the clinics

• Improve physician productivity and efficiency in terms of improving patient health

• Compile, distribute, and present progress/performance reports to both clinical and non-clinical staff on a regular basis

Data is an important component of these objectives and the analysts will be joining a team tasked with extracting, analyzing, and presenting data from our EMR and several other systems. The analysts will also be responsible for using data to identify operational weaknesses and to design improvements where needed to achieve our goals.

Position Requirements

• Strong analytical and investigative skills required

• SQL proficiency required; further programming skills preferred

• Strong MS Excel skills required, MS Access preferred

• Desire to improve health outcomes with technology required

• Communication and consensus building skills required

• Ability to self-teach and investigate required

• .NET or C# experience preferred

• Statistics/epidemiology experience (required for statistician position)

Additional Position Information

• Training in our EMR and database will be provided

• Positions are full-time Monday-Friday and include benefits

• Opportunities are available for research studies and presentations at conferences

• Analysts will spend time shadowing our physicians and technology staff as part of the training program

• Analysts will work closely with hospital staff at all levels, as well as with top administrators such as medical directors and the physician-in-chief

• The statistician will work closely with the Medicine Department’s residency program and will have the opportunity to train medical residents and help them with their research
