Open Door Family Medical Centers is seeking Dental Assistants in our new Saugerties, NY location. Reporting directly to the Director of Dental Operations, the Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties (Assisting the dentist, prepare patients for treatment, taking x-rays, scheduling dental appointments). 

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides chair-side assistance when necessary during dental treatment
• Greets visitors and patients in a courteous, prompt and friendly manner
• Determines their needs, checks appointments and gives appropriate information
• Escorts patients to operatory
• Assures that dental record, medical record and x-ray images are available for the dentist or dental hygienist
• Prepares patient for examinations and treatment, including placement of supplies and instruments for procedure
• Maintains supplies and instruments in all dental operatory
• Performs laboratory and x-ray tasks under supervision of dentist
• Processes and sterilizes instruments according to CDC guidelines
• Make appointments for patients. Verifies the need for return appointments

REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Italian) preferred
• Dental assistant experience preferred
• Superior customer service skills and experience
• Responsive and comfortable working in the fast paced high accountability environment 
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
• Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
• Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
