Open Door Family Medical Centers is seeking Dental Assistants in Port Chester, NY. Reporting directly to the Director of Dental Operations, the Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties (Assisting the dentist, prepare patients for treatment, taking x-rays, scheduling dental appointments). All Open Door Family Medical Centers are located in Westchester and Putnam counties located just North of New York City. Candidates are expected to travel between sites if it's necessary but not more than 20%. RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides chair-side assistance when necessary during dental treatment
Greets patients and escorts them to appropriate operatory
Assures that dental record, medical record and encounter form are available for the dentist or dental hygienist
Prepares patient for examinations and treatment, including placement of bib and instruments for procedure
Maintains supplies and instruments in all dental operatory
Performs laboratory and x-ray tasks under supervision of dentist
Make appointments for patients. Verifies the need for return appointments
Greets visitors and patients in a courteous, prompt and friendly manner
Determines their needs, checks appointments and gives appropriate information
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Dental assistance experience required
Superior customer service skills and experience
Responsive and comfortable working in the fast paced high accountability environment with different types of providers
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
