Position Description:
Grants Director
Responsible for all aspects of raising support from foundations, corporations and government sources. Lead grant proposal development/submission, preparing and organizing materials for proposals and submitting and monitoring grant applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft proposals and grant application narratives, and collaborate to finalize with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Gotham Health
Research new funding opportunities on a local, state, and federal level
Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement, taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness.
Monitor and maintain the funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements
Track progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals
Draft compelling progress reports to funders that fully capture programmatic success.
Assemble all necessary supporting materials and documents including outcome measurements.
Submit progress reports to funders and investors
Research statistics, trends and data for grant proposals and community advocacy
Perform research and data gathering-both from external sources, as well as Gotham Health programs
Develop and prioritize projects and proposals, meet and work with staff to elicit projects and programs that need support. Manage monthly meetings to vet project and programs and set priorities for funding
Manage existing grants by tracking grants, developing internal reporting systems, writing reports, maintaining excellent historical records, working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations
Monitor and manage grants income goal and deliverables
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of fundraising information sources
Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs, Lotus notes, Blackbaud Raisers Edge 7 database
Experience in program development
Knowledge of contracts and agreements preferred
Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing and management.
Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills. Including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience.
Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in effective and efficient manner.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, team oriented, and mission driven environment.
Demonstrated interest in community economic development and the mission, vision and values of Gotham Health.
Proven track record on raising money from foundation and government sources
