We are currently recruiting for a Testing Specialist.
Onsite and Community Based Testing
Responsible for providing HIV/HCV and STD screening and testing services, as per protocol, for walk-in clients, special events and community testing events
Conduct a behavioral risk assessment, assessing risk for HIV, HCV and STDs
Connect client to clinical and/or pharmacy services if they are a candidate for Post- or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis
Ensure the client is aware of how HIV/HCV/STDs are transmitted, how to reduce their risk and/or prevent transmission
Discuss the meaning of a nonreactive and reactive test result
Conduct rapid HIV and HCV testing per protocol
Discuss strategies for risk reduction, including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, and assist client in creating a practical risk reduction strategy to employ following the test encounter
Provide risk reduction supplies to client, as needed
Provide facilitation of evidence-based interventions, as appropriate, during testing encounters
Demonstrate developing knowledge of HIV/HCV/STDs, factors affecting people who use drugs, health disaparities and other health-related issues relevant to the mission and vision of Trillium Health
Operate assigned vehicles, including outreach mobile unit
Be an ambassador for all Trillium Health services during community based outreach, education and testing.
Linkage and Navigation
Distribute and market current and appropriate educational materials
Provide active linkage to clinical services such as PrEP and PEP.
Be able to function PrEP Specialist capacity to initiate and continue patients on PrEP and PEP.
Responsible for directly connecting clients to provider for Rapid Start HIV treatment, when indicated
Provide transportation for clients or patients to and from Trillium Health when necessary
Documentation
Document client encounters and services delivered in the electronic medical record
Document testing services provided as required by funders
Submit monthly reports to supervisor as directed

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Health Education, Health and Human Services or related field OR Associate’s degree in Health Education, Health and Human Services or related field and 2 years of related experience OR High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience and community connection. Bilingual in Spanish or ability to communicate through ASL preferred. Employee must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays.
