As part of ECHC’s Behavioral Health Services Department, the ClinicalSocial Worker provides key behavioral health services by conducting assessments and diagnosis of children, adolescents and adults. Additionally this position will offer counseling sessions to those in need. This requires a level of professionalism, courtesy and effectiveness in making the patient’s experience when visiting ECHC a positive one.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Will provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and counseling to a patient for behavioral health and/or emotional disorders
Familiarity and willingness to work in an integrated health center and coordinate care with other providers including pediatrics, women’s health, internal medicine etc.
Provide evidence based treatment with children, adolescents and adults
Document therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records, implement and adhere to policies that ensure patient confidentiality
Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate treatment/care
Participate in clinician meetings, workshops and in-service meetings to enhance professional development and maintain up to date methodologies and techniques
Provide consultations to other health care professionals within clinic and other community based agencies with regard to client/patient care
Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health Services
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in Social Work and current license as a Certified Social Worker in New York State (LCSW) or an (LMSW) in New York State and supervision will be provided.
Knowledge of policies and procedures for billing of services
Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds
Familiarity with many facets of the Jewish community
Yiddish speaking preferre
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member
