We are currently seeking a Nurse Educator for our Manhattan Program locations to implement and monitor systems that ensure the safe and appropriate management and administration of medication for persons receiving services. Will also provide direction, training and assistance to staff in health-related practices and procedures. Specific responsibilities include:
- Conducting on-going reviews of medication documentation.
- Assisting nurse case manager in conducting regularly scheduled observations of medication administration procedures performed by AMAP staff.
- Conducting medication certification and re-certification practicum (pourings) for all certified staff and completing and maintaining certifications and recertifications.
- Reviewing procedures for medication receipt, storage and accountability.
- Conducting ongoing training in health-related topics as well as specialized training.
Requires New York State Licensed Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years working with people with developmental disabilities. Current CPR certification, ability to travel to multiple locations within the Metropolitan New York Division and ability to work flexible hours required. Previous experience in staff development/training preferred
