Position Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Behavioral Health Counselor, LCSW-R.

Provide integrated mental health and substance abuse counseling services to address the psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs of patients/clients served by the Organization.

Mental Health

  • Provide direct individual and group mental health/and or substance abuse counseling services
  • Work with medical providers and the interdisciplinary clinical team to review and integrate mental health and substance abuse services into treatment plans
  • Works with patients' care managers to integrate mental health and substance abuse services into individual service plans.
  • Develop outcomes and prepare regular reports on individual, group, and program achievements as assigned.

Supportive Services

  • Provides therapeutic support and education to patients/ clients individually or in group settings
  • Provide short term motivational counseling to patients/clients who are not ready, willing, or able to participate in mental health or substance abuse treatment programs 

Miscellaneous

  • Requires the ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, races, sexual orientations and gender identities or expressions.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all patient, clients, proprietary, and protected information.
  • Employees are accountable for meeting performance standards of their departments. They participate in compliance audits and quality improvement plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a closely related field. NYS licensure required as LCSW-R. Three years direct experience in providing individual and group mental health and/or substance abuse counseling needed. Program development experience strongly preferred.
