The Director of Nursing (DON) plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all laws, regulations, and patient care standards.

Graduation from accredited school of nursing with a five to seven years clinical nursing experience.
Minimum of five years of increasing levels of experience managing a multi-service health care agency, hiring and supervising staff, program development, and budget management. Have significant understanding of and experience with ethically diverse populations and related issues. Demonstrated knowledge of local and regional health care industry preferred. Demonstrated experience with performance improvement, data retrieval, statistics, forms design and quality improvement techniques. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and thorough knowledge of PCMH and NYS DOHstandards.
