- Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
- Promotes continuity of patient care by relevant counseling guidance, health instruction follow-up visits or telephone contact.
- Recognizes mental deviation from normal; initiates arrangements for treatment of psychiatric and psychosocial problems.
- Establishes a collaborative relationship with referral physician where roles and responsibilities are clearly delineated and agreed upon
-Interprets the role of the Physician's Assistant to the community.
- Participates in the development of protocols and performance improvement procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
-Graduated from an approved Physician's Assistant training program
-Two or more years of experience as a physician assistant is preferred
