We have worked in NYC for over 20 years as partners in underserved communities to transform public open space into functioning parks and gardens for community use. Job Description
Successful AmeriCorps participants will be assigned to our field operations or community engagement team, responsibilities will vary, including daily litter patrol; basic horticultural tasks of watering, weeding and planting; leading groups of volunteers in project work; hosting a small gardening workshop or a large community festival; building compost bins; tree planting; and any other tasks that best serve the neighborhoods we work in.
We look for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn; training will be provided. All AmeriCorps members must be available to work a full-time schedule— 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. We have two schedules, Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday. One weekend day is mandatory. We work outdoors; this is physical work and requires stamina, physical strength and a tolerance for working in all weather conditions.

AmeriCorps Eligibility
