On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, Governor Cuomo delivered his third State of the State address. The agenda the Governor set forth included strengthening New York’s public education system as well as its emergency response capacity, including upgrades to harden New York’s infrastructure and ensuring the resiliency of its healthcare facilities.. He also laid out his plans to improve the quality and safety of care provided to hospital patients, increase the state’s minimum wage to $8.75, require pay equity for women, strengthen abortion rights, expand the state’s ban on assault weapons, and require a public financing of political campaigns.
