On September 14, HRSA announced $10.5 million in awards to sixty-two NYS health centers to support increased access to substance abuse and mental health services. The majority of health centers received approximately $175,000. A list of the awardees is available here.HRSA Regional Administrator Ronald Moss announced the awards at Betances Health Center last Thursday.
In their press release,HRSA notes that the Access Increases for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (AIMS) awards are intended to promote treatment, prevention and awareness of opioid abuse by integrating mental health and substance use services into a primary care settings. In total, HRSA awarded over $200 million to 1,110 health centers and 13 rural health organizations throughout the country.
