The NYS Dept. of Health (DOH) has just released a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program. A total of up to $195 million in grants is available to health care providers to support capital projects that address acute inpatient, outpatient, primary, home care or residential health care services needs in a community. A minimum of $30 million of the total funding is designated for community-based health care providers, including diagnostic and treatment centers, mental health and alcohol and substance abuse treatment clinics, primary care providers, and home care providers.
This set-aside represented the first time the State earmarked funding in the budget specifically for community-based providers and was a big win for community-based healthcare. We encourage all interested health centers to apply. Applications must be submitted through Grants Gateway by 4:00 p.m. on Friday,September 16, 2016. DOH will hold an informational webinar on the RFA in early August. Registration information will be posted on the Grants Gateway when available. Interested parties may also send an e-mail to healthcarefacilitytransformation@health.ny.gov to request notification when registration information for the Applicant Webinar becomes available.
