BD, Direct Relief, and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) honored seven community health centers, including two from New York State, with the Innovation in Care Award at NACHC’s 2015 Community Health Institute and EXPO in Orlando, Florida last week. Part of the BD Helping Build Healthy Communities™ initiative, the $100,000 awards acknowledge innovative approaches to the prevention and treatment of diseases that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. Access Community Health Center in NYC was recognized for its use of technology to help adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities achieve better diabetes management outcomes, and Jericho Road Community Health Center in Buffalo received an award for its innovative approach to diabetes education. Congratulations!
