On Tuesday, August 11, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced that HHS has awarded $169 million in Affordable Care Act funding to 266 new health center sites in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico for the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services in communities that need them most.
The awards were timed to coincide with National Health Center Week, an annual weeklong campaign designed to celebrate and raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of FQHCs across the country.
Seventeen New York State health centers will collectively receive over $9.7 million of this funding in order to establish new health service delivery access points, expanding capacity for an additional 65,309 patients. Awardees include:
