CHCANYS Updates--NEW CHCANYS' New York City Health Agenda FY 2010
CHCANYS is proud to present its New York City Health Agenda FY 2010 and would like to thank all those who contributed for their suggestions and guidance. We look forward to working with the Mayor's administration, City Council and community health centers in achieving the four priority initiatives highlighted in the FY 10 City Agenda and having them adopted in the upcoming New York City budget. New York City FY 10 Executive Budget Proposal
Mayor Bloomberg is proposing a $59.4 billion Executive Budget that fills a $6.6 billion deficit through a series of tax increases, job cuts, agency spending reductions and other actions. To read about the impact of these actions on New York City health centers, click here.

Update on CHCANYS' H1N1 Activities
CHCANYS has been working with NYS Department of Health (DOH) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) to disseminate H1N1 alerts, information, and guidance. CHCANYS recently disseminated a cooperative agreement form to NYC health centers that, once signed and returned to DOHMH, will allow for the inclusion of community health centers in the City's Antiviral Allocation Plan.

Red Flag Rule Delayed
FTC grants three-month delay of enforcement of ‘Red Flags' Rule requiring creditors and financial iInstitutions to adopt Identity Theft Prevention Programs The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced that the red flag enforcement date is being extended until August 1, 2009 and additional guidance will be forthcoming. Training Opportunity for Clinicians New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will sponsor a free three-day training course for primary care providers on Basic & Advanced Disaster Life Support at Jamaica Hospital Medical Centeron June 2-4.Please note that the first day is Basic Disaster Life Support, followed by 2 days of Advanced Disaster Life Support. HRSA PINS AND PALS INFORMATION--NEW PAL 2009-05
The Health Center Program: New Requirements for Medical Malpractice Coverage Deeming under the Federally Supported Health Centers Assistance Act for Calendar Year 2010. This PAL contains the instructions for health centers filing initial and renewal deeming applications for calendar year (CY) 2010. All currently deemed health centers must file a renewal deeming application no later than July 17, 2009 in order to be deemed for CY 2010. For more information please click here.
