New NACHC Issue Brief on "Red Flag" Rule NACHC has issued a new Issue Brief intended to assist health centers in developing and implementing an Identity Theft Prevention Program compliant with the Federal Trade Commission's "Red Flag" rules. The Identity Theft Prevention Program must be approved by the health center's Board of Directors and be in place by May 1, 2009. Health Centers are urged to read this new Issue Brief (dated April, 2009) as well as the earlier one issued by NACHC in February, 2009. Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) has put together a template policy and procedures addressing the requirements of the red flag rules for community health centers, which is attached here. This document is meant to be an example for other states to use, keeping in mind state, local and site specific requirements that health centers may need to consider when adapting the language.
