HRSA Awards Over $2.7 Million to New York State to Expand Access to Primary Health Care On November 7, 2013, U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced $2,762,501 in awards under the Affordable Care Act to support the establishment of 5 new health service delivery sites in New York State, which will serve a proposed additional 29,493 patients. read more >>

Exciting NYC Training Opportunity for O&E Staff CHCANYS is excited to announce a new training opportunity for health center outreach and enrollment (O&E) staff, to be offered in partnership with Empire Justice Center on Thursday, December 5th in New York City. A Deeper Dive: Medicaid and Immigration Considerations for the New York State Marketplace will provide participants with an overview of the fundamental changes to the state’s Medicaid program, including clarification around new eligibility categories (MAGI vs. non-MAGI) and the application of Advance Premium Tax Credits (APTC); a presentation on the various health care coverage options available to immigrants of different status; and a demonstration on how the UDS Mapper can be used to maximize outreach efforts. Representatives from NY State of Health have also been invited to facilitate an in-person Q&A session. read more >>
