The Home Care Association of New York State, Inc. in cooperation with the Albany Medical Center and the SUNY Albany School of Public Health Preparedness, announce an Emergency Preparedness Conference & Regional TableTop Exercise focusing on Pandemic Influenza Preparedness & Response Planning DATE: Wednesday, 7/12/06 & Thursday, 7/13/06 LOCATION: Century House, Latham, New York This day and a half –long program is intended to foster understanding of and development of interagency collaboration of health partners in emergency response. The first day is “home care-centered” and will include educational programming intended to cover many of the critical areas that impact emergency preparedness for Pandemic Influenza planning. The tentative agenda for July 12th includes:
July 13th will be devoted to a tabletop exercise based on a community response pandemic influenza, followed by a “hot wash.” July 12th – Education Who Should Attend? Home care administrators, home care emergency planners, home care clinicians, public health representatives July 13th – Regional TableTop based on the NYS Pandemic Influenza Exercise with special emphasis on surge capacity Emergency planners & responders from all health care settings (including but not limited to home care, nursing homes, adult homes, hospitals, community health care centers, and assisted living facilities), local and county emergency planners, representatives of EMS, fire, police, involved in community response Please read carefully: Registration for this program if free, however “no-shows” who do not cancel within three days of this conference will be invoiced for $75 to cover costs. You may register for one day or both days. Lodging: Participants are responsible for their own lodging. The Century House in Latham offers overnight accommodations.
