SPECIAL TRAINING SESSION FOR OUTREACH & ENROLLMENT WORKERS

CHCANYS has partnered with the Empire Justice Center to offer health center outreach and enrollment staff an exciting opportunity to receive an in-depth look at New York State of Health’s Marketplace. The workshop will be led by Trilby de Jung, a senior staff attorney with the Public Benefits & Health Unit at the Empire Justice Center. Trilby provides legal training, technical assistance and back-up support to civil legal services attorneys and other health advocates statewide.
This hands-on workshop will highlight the fundamental changes to New York’s Medicaid program and move beyond the big picture to the nuts and bolts of New York State of Health’s Marketplace and what it has to offer our patients. Our presenter will use several hypothetical scenarios to illustrate the potential challenges our patients may face, including a household of mixed immigration status, a patient who is both disabled and a caretaker, and a household where some members qualify for Medicaid while others qualify to purchase coverage from a qualified health plan.
